Data Collection and Use
User Analytics
- Our Services use Google Analytics to capture anonymized usage information (“User Analytics”)
- Our Services only collect user email associated with the Google account using the GdocifyMd Add-On, for the purpose of rate-limiting free API calls to our server.
- For example, we collect information about your Google account email address and how many times you have used GdocifyMd Add-On to convert markdown document into Google Docs. This number will be used to determine whether you can use our Services for free. See the support page for quota definition.
- We also collection information about your device and its software, such as your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, platform type, device type, operating system, date and time stamp, a unique ID that allows us to uniquely identify your browser, mobile device, and other such information, through Google Analytics.
- This type of information is considered confidential and is only used for the purpose of operating, maintaining, and improving features of the Service.

In order for our add-ons to function, they require access to your Google Docs.

GdocifyMd add-on require that Users give permission to access their Personal Data or act on their behalf

The first time GdocifyMd is run, you will be prompted to authorize one or more permissions.

Below are the permissions GdocifyMd currently require, and a description of what they are used for:

View and manage your Google Docs documents
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/documents
This permission is used to write formatted Markdown documents into your Google docs.

Display and run third-party web content in prompts and sidebars inside Google applications
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.container.ui
This permission is used to show the dialog box which allows you to input the markdown text that you intend to import into your Google Docs.

Connect to an external service
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.external_request
This permission is used to send the markdown document to our server, so that the syntax of the markdown document can be parsed, and properly formatted Google Docs content can be written back to your Google account.

How We Share Information

We do not share User Analytics with third party service providers

We may be required to share information with law enforcement or other third parties when compelled to do so by court order or other legal process, to comply with statutes or regulations, or if we believe in good faith that the disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property or personal safety of our Users

We do not rent or sell information for marketing purposes and we will never share or sell User Analytics with third parties for marketing purposes
Your Choices About Your Information
- To opt-out of having your User Analytics data captured, users can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. This add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript from sharing information with the Google Analytics service about your device activity.

What We Collect And Our Basis For Doing So

GdocifyMd add-on use Google Analytics to capture anonymized usage information (“User Analytics”). For example, we collect information about your device and its software, such as your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, platform type, device type, operating system, date and time stamp, a unique ID that allows us to uniquely identify your browser, mobile device, and other such information. We also collect information about the way you use our GdocifyMd add-on, for example, how many times have you converted markdown to Google Docs, and how many markdown documents include code blocks, etc. This type of information is considered confidential and is only used for the purpose of operating, maintaining, and improving features of the GdocifyMd add-on; this use is a legitimate interest under GDPR Article 6, Section 1(f).

GdocifyMd add-on collects your Google account email address for usage statistics and rate-limiting free-tier API calls. This is in compliance with the Google sign-in user consent policy, and GDPR.
What We Do Not Collect

GdocifyMd add-on neither collect nor maintain any data that users provide to the add-on. We do not collect or maintain any document content transmitted to our server for syntax parsing.
